INITIATIVE FOR SDGs

Initiatives for SDGs

We have selected the 12 goals from the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) that we aim to achieve with our employees for the benefit of the global and local communities, and will promote our business activities toward these goals by 2030.
In particular, we have positioned our efforts in the environmental field as a top priority, and are striving to reduce the environmental impact of our business activities.

Regarding SDG 14.7*, we continue a long-term project for the prevention of ciguatera food poisoning with Professor Emeritus Takeshi Yasumoto, who has been an academic advisor of JFRL for more than 25 years. A brief history of his research relating to this project is presented below;

*SDG14.7: By 2030, increase the economic benefits to Small Island Developing States and least developed countries from the sustainable use of marine resources, including through sustainable management of fisheries, aquaculture, and tourism.
